New E.on tariff worth moving to?
Options
I am currently on E.on's EnergyOnline Extra Saver 14 tariff (dual fuel). I was tinkering around with the comparison engines (free bottles of wine etc) and noticed the new FixOnline V7 tariff. All the comparison sites reckon I will make savings on this tariff. However the tariff I am currently on I believe has some sort of discount fixed until September this year. I was just wondering if the new tariff is worth switching to yet?

Hi stu666,
Just to clarify, the amount of discount that you are currently receiving on EnergyOnline Extra Saver 14 is guaranteed until the 1 September 2010.
If you move from this tariff to another E.ON tariff you won’t be charged a cancellation fee, as there isn’t one stated in the T&C’s of this tariff.

Thanks Brian.
What are the differences between the two tariffs?
Is it worth moving now, or should I wait until September?
Many thanks.0 -
With the current tariff you are subject to changes in unit rates. The discount is not subject to amendments until the 1 September 2010.
FixOnline tariffs are exactly that, fixed, the unit prices and discounts offered are guaranteed until the stipulated dates.
As you know EnergyOnline Extra Saver is an older tariff that comes to an end soon, FixOnline is newer and guarantees the rates and discounts further into the future.
The ‘best’ or ‘cheapest’ tariffs are often two different things; the best tariff for one person may not necessarily be the cheapest tariff.
Comparison websites are the sure fire way to find the ‘best’ tariff for you. Make sure you use your annual consumption in kWh when entering your search criteria. If you want cheapest, the comparisons will highlight this.
