Just been having a clearout and found a totally sealed and unused lexmark black 16 cartridge. Must have had a senior moment and forgotten it was there as I've bought another one since. Is there a use by time on these or as it's still sealed and in the box should it still be useable?

I only noticed the other day on the packaging of my spares that they had a expiry date on them. Mine were Epson ones though so not sure if they all do!If practice makes perfect, and nobody is perfect....................................
Why practice!:T0 -
Ink cartridges usually do have a use by date.
I had some old HP cartridges where you couldn't see the date unless you opened the box (date printed on the shrink wrapped cellophane wrapper)0 -
When they are out of date they tend to dry up so when you take them out give them a shake and listen for a sploshing sound :huh:The solving of a problem lies in finding the solvers.0

fine to use till the ink runs out0 -
Unfortunately I have found that suppliers of cheap inkjet cartridges have supplied those with an expired use-buy date. So beware.
When I complained, they suggested that it's possible to get the cartridges to work by immersing them in boiling water for a while. And I have found that this may work, sometimes.
But obviously, the answer is not to buy in future from such suppliers.0
