The OP has already said that there is wallpaper on the wall. No nails will simply pull the paper off the wall.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

Hope someone can help please!
I live in a brick built bungalow, the internal walls are very hard to screw anything on to - I have to use those things (technical term :rotfl:) with 'butterfly' clips to screw nails into. I guess the walls are just plasterboard. Anyway, about a year ago I fixed some coat hooks to the hallway wall, they hold about 4 coats each. One came away from the wall about 2 months ago and the other one is holding one by a thread - the screws are just about holding on.
Can anyone tell me how/if I can fix them to the wall so that they stay up permanently??
TIA
I think this might be where you're going wrong...:DNo free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

I would go with phill99 and screw the batten into the vertical studs without hesitationHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
The actual name for them is "ahem" Self drive plasterboard fixings
However, pilot a small hole before you try to screw them in as the PB will have a 3mm layer of plaster skim on it which will be solid. If you try to screw these in withought putting a pilot hole in first you will find they will twist all over the place! Also screw them in SLOWY - you only get ONE chance (in the part of the wall you want the fixing)
Really cheap to buy, couple of quid, get them at any DIY store.0 -
