Chessington World of Adventures

I went to Chessington yesterday with my son and friend and her daughter. The park "houskeeping" was awful. There were huge industrial disgustingly smelly bins lying around the park. The drains were bad and really stinking in some places. They ran out of food in some of the kiosks by 4pm, in one of the kiosks the food prep areas looked filthy with a whole days worth of grime. It was as if no one had wiped the surfaces all day. The toilets, well the odour was choice to say the least, and that was the ladies, goodness knows what the gents was like. The staff operating the rides were brilliant, but the ones that were taking your money loooked like they really couldn't have cared less.
This was on a not very busy (by theme park standards) day.
The rides were great and the queues were not too bad considering it's summer holidays. Our kids had a good time.
From an adult point of view, the park was really badly managed. I was really dissapointed with my day there. I would love to take control of their housekeeping team for a week. The place would sparkle:D
I will be writing to them to complain.

As someone who visits Chessington regularly, I can tell you that I have never been on a day when it has been like that.
What I don't understand is why you didn't simply go to Guest Services and complain on the spot.0 -
Several years ago it was common to find this situation at Chessington but I think they've really got their act together lately, though they still could be much better. I know they pull those big wheelie bins around to empty the smaller ones, but they really shouldn't be left standing around. They do seem to be a bit hit and miss with regards to housekeeping.
As a previous poster mentioned I've found at theme parks that complaining on the day does tend to do the trick even if it's just vouchers to skip a queue or free tickets to come back another day (use them yourself or sell them on ebay).0
