Question on TERs for tracker funds

I was going through the IMA's database of index tracker unit trust. When sorting the funds by TER, some that come near the top (i.e. the ones with the lowest TERs) are a series of HSBC funds with TERs ranging between 0.27 and 0.29%. However, these appear to have an annual charge between 0.5 and 1%. How can they achieve…

At the moment, the TER should be fund level only. The platform charge is not included.

The TER published at different sites may be slightly different because they use different snapshot data. TERs are not static and do change. So, one website publishing the TER on 1st January may have a different figure to one publishing it on 1st March.
