selfish gits so many of these business 'executives'.

why oh why should we have to suffer further cuts in public services than will already have to be taken due to the bank bailouts?

the majority of people in this country need state schools. the majority of people in this country rely on the NHS and couldn't afford private health care / insurance. many many vulnerable children rely on social services.

not only that but whether you agree with it or not we are fighting a very expensive war that basically is to protect private sector business interests.

the private sector has caused this economic downturn. it has relied on the public sector and public money to prevent it turning into a global meltdown. and now they are mithering about a very small raise in national insurance.

1% on NI will make very little difference - we are talking pennies here. All these business leaders are Tory supporters anyway, so pay any attention to them?

What rot. These business leaders are supporters of whatever party they think is going to help their business.

The NI increase will make a difference to the employer who has to pay it. It may be pennies to the individual but to the employer it can be a small fortune.

Labour are on the backfoot on this and are struggling to get off it.

Oh so all these buisness brains are all Tory voters :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

So where are all the Labour voting buisness leaders. Surely they would come out fighting for Brown the Clown?

They are not being mislead they are being political, it was funny on Newsnight last night, they wheeled out James Caan as a Tory backer and he demolished the now 81 business leaders arguments with reference to the majority of their workforce being on less than 20k. So funny icon7.gif

Why oh why is it a news issue, or even a suprise to people that some top execs don't want to pay more tax?
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

well you seem more than happy to lump the "public sector" together. ignoring the fact that a few sicknote culture pen pushers (as if they don't exist in the private sector) do not count for the entire public sector.

there is no getting away from the fact that the bailout was for mistakes made within the private sector.

The point Caan was making was, most of those business leaders will pay minimal extra NI because most preside over relatively low paid workforces (under 20k) that will not be subject to the extra 1%.

    .

Maybe, but it will not have much affect on many of those 81 business leaders, sorry I meant Tory backers icon7.gif
