Been and taken DS to the barbers and had the hairdresser sort my hair out, had therapist sort my nails out and had a very VERY thourough waxing EEK!
Continuing with cleaning (fridge today, euw) and packing. 2 Cambridge clients and then I am relaxing tonight...Vie party went ok last night, £200 odd which is ok.
How painful is waxing? cos I "veeted" my legs this morning and its worked and everything but the smell is just awful. Do you need to wax less often then veeting or shaving?

It depends - it tends to get less painful the more you have it done because some of the hair folicles get weaker and some just give up the ghost entirely (think 1970's thin eyebrows look - some women never got them back!)

i think that leg waxing isn't all that painful - there is an inital sting when the strip is pulled off, but it's like pulling a plaster off really quick.Cats don't have owners - they have staff!!DFW Long Hauler Supporter No 1500

Also good to work out your level of sensitivity for the time of month.
I tend to laugh when I'm in pain/distress!!!! Many hours of hilarity at the chiropractors or beauticians.

...and waxing is probably about once a month. They say 6 weeks but I think that is till it is more or less fully grown back.Debt LBM (08/09) £11,641. DEBT FREE APRIL 2021.

Pain thresholds are quite personal. A good beauty therapist makes all the difference.
I recommend:
* a cup of coffee (the caffine helps) and a paracetamol beforehand (at least for your first time or when it is a sensitive time of the month). I don't do this any more but have done it.
* avoiding that sensitive time of the month (i.e. just before your time of the month) as it hurts more then
* using a body scrub beforehand - a nice grainy one. You can even use it on your bikini line. Removing dead skin makes it less painful. I use a body scrub every time I shower and have a good scrub as close as I can to the appt time.Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0 -
My beauty therapist recommends every 4 weeks. I think 4-5 is about right.Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0

I also think your hair type makes a LOT of difference. Being a ginger (;)) my hair is very coarse and therefore makes waxing a no-go for me. Having my legs waxed (never mind anywhere else) was one of the most painful procedures I have ever had.YOUR = belonging to you (your coat); YOU'RE = you are (I hope you're ok)
