It was my 30th birthday this year and therefore most of my friends too. How about you get them a tshirt with a funny pic of them on it and a caption. These are around £10 (some shops do them on the spot) or i make them myself with a printer and tshirt transfers which would be even cheaper.

If not how about a ticket to a show which is on in your area in the future which means that you have more time to save for a ticket for yourself and it also leads to a night out!!
    Hope it helps.

WHS online have all the classic children's TV you watched when you were little (Chorlton & the Wheelies, Mr Benn etc) incredibly cheaply. I know you haven't got time to order online, but they may be instore as well.

And the online selection may sort out a Christmas present or two!
  • The Next sale is still on and they have some really nice bits of jewellery at very cheap prices (do I sound like a market trader)?

Also I picked up a beautiful candle at The Pier which was reduced to £1.50 but looks about £5.:T

What about a 'girly night in' kit - with a cheap dvd (say grease/dirty dancing/moulin rouge - most can be bought cheaply), some popcorn or doritos and an alco-pop type drink?

Probably a bit short of time for this one as you need it for the weekend, but here goes anyway.

A friend of mine was 40 recently so we looked up (on google) what was number one in the music charts on the day he was born. Then we looked on ebay to see if anyone was selling that 7" vinyl single, they were (it was a naff song so only 49p plus p&p). Then we got some old coins from the year they were born, loads of them for sale on ebay.

Then we bought a cheap clip picture frame and stuck the single on it on a red card background, and the coins underneath with little signs saying "Number One on the Day You Were Born" and "Coins From 19??" created on the computer. Then put a little bit of thick card border frame all the way around and clip the frame back together. Hey Presto ! a personalised pressie, for well under a tenner!

    Hope that helps.

For my 30th I was so pleased people came to my bash, I didn;t care about pressies.

But I got a lot of bottles of wine, bath oils, CDs, and all of those would have been cheap but were very appreciated.

It honestly is you being there that counts and she will be happy with whatever you get her - you can even get rings/necklaces for under a tenner at a lot of shops, so it would be something she could keep.

I got a copy of Mike Gayle's novel 'Turning 30' from work friends and really enjoyed it!
