Is it always like this on here if someone buys a house?

    Lovely day outside.

    Not always.

Why not go outside then? Go for a cuppa with Malcolm.

Is Malcolm one of your internet pals? How could I go for a cuppa with them in the real world? And why on earth would I want to?

    your wage after tax 2450 a month x 12 = 29400 a year
    your wifes wage after tax 1300 a month x 12 = 15600 a year

If you add tax of 20 percent has you both earn less than 40,000, the total for you and you wifes gross earnings are 29400 + 15600 + 20 percent tax = 54000

    £54000 is not 70,000,
Now i might have got my figures wrong but so have you and your the one who told everyone it was more like 70,000

I used to take home 2,500 a month and my gross salary was almost 50k. there is more deducted than just income tax.....

50K salary = 2984 Take home after NI and Income tax

    http://www.thesalarycalculator.co.uk/salary.php

20K salary = 1310 per month post tax.

I guess you were paying Student Loan deductions as well? Ties in with about what I was paying before I paid it off...

51k PER YEAR after tax, of which we have averaged around 75-80% savings on take home per month....

EDIT: 75-80% after rent deductions at source.

Tw*ttish bulls must be getting desperate when they start pulling figures out of thin air....

did you see my post earlier? us banks no longer use proper accounting (mark to market), no-one know what their losses are. there are millions of delinquent mortgages that have not been foreclosed on.

Its not in wilts and its reduced to what I was willing to pay post-crash. 28% off original asking (reduced 22% off currently on Property bee), seller desperate to sell and its been on the market for 18 months.

1 Acre paddock, Pond, stream and 5 bed detatched needing a little work, bit remote but only 20 mins drive from a major city. only 1 hour commute from work. Jobs a good un...
Why do you need a 5 bed house with all the pretty features such as paddock? There's just 2 of you yes? I hope it's not just a prestige thing, because you're worth it kind of thing. £325K is a lot of money imo, for a FTB, even down your way of the country.

Are you planning on having lots of kids? Bit remote? Shops... have you considered schools zones for the area? A guy I knew had a house all remote.. with neighbours far and few with not many kids around for his kids to play and hang around with. Regularly getting burgled too. Not a really convenient location for taking in a lodger either, if that ever became something to consider. Always needing a car, because bus-stops a good hike away.

You probably considered a lot of that.. was just wondering a few things out loud.
