As some you may be aware I am having to move to a new house, we currently live with my mum, the house is being sold so i have to go into rented again.

I'm going to see 4 houses this weekend, if one is nice hopefully I will get it, my dad is going to be a guarentour for me, OH is going to get his dad to be his guarentour, hopefully this will cover our bad credit issue,
What do they want in terms of references? Will we need to give our previous estate agents details?

If you've been living with parents then say you've been living with parents .
If you can offer good references from previous LL that's a bonus.
Explain about the bad debt up front. Don't waste your money having credit checks done by the agents on yourselves (at your expense!).
If they won't accept guarantors, walk away.
If they will, then you'll need to pay to get your guarantors credit checked.

I've told them about the bad debt and said we've both got guarantours, they're okay with that, I don't know if our old agents will give us a good reference or not because they were really off about giving our deposit back - as in didn't contact us for over a month after out tenancy ended, it was all chasing on our part. If i don't have to refere to them at all i'd prefere it.
