Hi All
I have a reclaimed maple wooden floor in my kitchen and hence get’s a lot of wear/traffic. I am going to treat my husband and let him give it a light sand this bank holiday (he doesn’t know yet but I’ve hired a sander –I’m sure he’s going to be thrilled):rotfl:
Last time it was done he varnished it with BonaTech Mega and to be honest I have not been that impressed!
My questions are:
My main gripe with varnish is that a few scratches and your floor looks shoddy and the only solution seems to be sanding and redoing whereas polishing I would be more able to ‘touch up,’ wouldn’t I?
Any advice or pointers in getting a lovely finish, hardwearing and easy to maintain finish ( is there such a thing?) to my floor would be greatly appreciated
thanks

My questions are:
- Which varnish would you recommend? Are the normal run of the mill varnishes just as good as the megabucks mega varnish?
- Have you ever tried floor wax and what did you think
- What about sealing it and applying polishes?
