Failing that go to their head office address and state, with a recording device that you have taken pictures, have contact all of the above, plus rogue traders and are suing them. Follow the boss home if you have to (not to do anything), but just to let him know that you have his home address, should his company suddenly change names !!

That is a good way of getting arrested by the Police for harassment!

Thanks for all advice, and although I hav'nt totally given up, the prospect of any further action is looking very slim.
I cannot afford to take the company to small claims court, so it looks like another victory to Glenhamptons, and a hugh lesson learnt by me at a massive cost to me and my kids.

small claims is relatively cheap, but I think you're out of luck there as the entire claim would be for the total installation costs.

As previous posters have noted, any amount paid by credit card as a deposit would give upto £100,000 cover for that particular item no matter how the balance is paid, in all cases make some form of deposit by card to get your insurance.

Do not let this go, these companies thrive on the fact that people will let them get away with this, if legal action is prohibitively expensive then make every attept to legally make a nuisance of yourself, trading standards, Fensa etc.

Do not follow people home, wreck their vans or do any of the other things that passed for reasonable behaviour 30 years ago but will just land you in court in this day and age.
