Student finance?

Can anyone help

I applied for my student finance on the 18th Dec last year for 2010/2011 and it has still not been approved. I understand that it takes time but surely not 15 weeks. In fact a lot of my friends applied after me and they've signed the form and have been approved. Every time I call them all I get is they're waiting for my passport to be verified call back in 7 - 10 working days then when I call back i'm told the same this has been going on for months now. Is anyone else having the same problem? Does anyone know if there is anyone higher who I could call to sort this out? This is very unsetting and annoying at the same time as the reason I applied so early was because i've applied for a scholarship from the university and they need confirmation as to what finance i'll be getting and if they don't send it to me soon i'm not going to be able to go on to the next stage for the scholarship.

You couldn't have applied in December for 10/11 because applications weren't open until mid/late February.....

They opened early for this years applications I applied the very first day it opened

yeah I put my passport number on my application online. I can't think of what the problem there can't be a problem with my passport because i've only just got back from holiday and they checked my passport before I entered the country so it can't be that and every where i've checked no one has been told the same as me.

It says assessed but it hasn't changed yet to approved

OK that means you most probably have a form to sign and send back.

Down the left there should be an option View Correspondance

Now it should list the letters sent to you. There should be one which says Notification letter, click on the GIF link, this should open the letter.

Is it there for you?

I've checked my Correspondence already but the only thing there is the email saying that they have received my application on the 18th December they said they can't approve it until the can verify my passport details which they're waiting to receive
