Liverpool and Victoria PHI

Can somebody give me some advice on a Liverpool and Victoria Permanent Health Insurance stand alone policy.

I think the company was called Pinnacle before that and Permanent Health Insurance Ltd before that.

The policy was taken out Nov 89 and I changed the occupation in about apr 1992 to Housewife. Would the insurance have covered me as a housewife?

There is nothing I can see in the copy of the Policy Document that they sent me.

Thanks

    Hi Max

Yikes I am not sure on the stand alone protection but we did have a loan with them in 2003 and succeeded with the reclaiming within 4 weeks of the PPI, so if you have a reclaim, hope they are just as quick for you too.;)

I will try to find some info though if I can.:)XX

Thanks Di. It was a general policy and not linked to a loan or anything.

    Yes. PHI covers housewives.

PHI is the best form of income protection and is recommended and sold via an advice process.

Do not mix up PPI and PHI as they are different.

Thanks Dunstonh I took it out 20 odd years ago but have been reviewing paperwork etc. Have now changed the occupation back to current occupation. Was just concerned that I may not have been covered for about 4 years.

    Cheers.

I took out a PHI or Whole health policy as it was then when I was first married some 25 years ago with my, then, husband when we took out a mortgage. Had really bad family history e.g. major strokes and heart attacks at the age of 45 plus diabetes etc etc.

Anyway to cut a long story short the policy covers him until retirement, he paid about 20.00 per month for it. 23 years ago he was diagnosed with ME and has been unable to work since and has claimed ever since, he now gets about 900.00 per month (am divorced now so am not sure exactly how much) and it goes up yearly by 5%.

This was definitely a really good thing to take out and has been worth its weight in gold for him.
