best way to connect a xbox 360 is with the network plugs, wirelessly you get a lot of lag.

people could trip over it, if its just the 1 person in the house then maybe it wouldn't be much of a hazard but if theres multiple people then its possible it could be a hazrd, the only way to get round it would be to route the cable on the outside of the rooms eg where the landline phone cable would go
