We've had our house on the market for a few months with not much interest. At the weekend we signed up to Bellway's express mover scheme and buy Tuesday they said they had a buyer for us. All of the terms are acceptable to us, the only complication is that the new house won't be finished until September. The buyer for ours has said he is happy to wait (he viewed our house a month ago but couldn't afford the deposit which bellway will now help him with). Obviously we don't want to sign anything without this buyer being obligated to buy our house in september.
So what can we do in the way of contracts, I believe Bellway will want to exchange a few weeks after agreeing but can our buyer sign contracts now if he won't be moving in till September?

Bellways know the situation so maybe speak with them. They must deal with this type of situation a lot. If they have helped the buyer with a deposit then obviously the buyer must know the situation to and may be understanding.0
