Have you somehow set it not to auto synch?
    Will it synch manually?

  • Click the ipod in itunes and select the music tab. Make sure you have 'sync all' or something along the lines of that.

So it is synching-you said it wasn't. It's just not synching your music.
Is is set to synch music? Sounds like this has become disabled, as I think normally music is synched by default.
In iTunes, select your iPod under Devices, go to the Music tab and check that 'Synch Music' is ticked.
Edit: deadduck beat me to it.

When your iPod is connected to iTunes there'll be a tab on the left showing as iPod - click onto this. This will then show you various things in the main window, what's likely happened is under the music tab (I think) you've got it set to only update certain playlists rather than everything - having a look at the window options with your iPod connected should show you enough to resolve this.

  • most curious .. i got to the "sync music" under the "music" tab .. and it is ticked to syn entire library .. but it's just not doing it ?

(macman .. i was saying that whilst ipod & itunes said it was syncing .. that syncing was done ... tsaying o disconnect .... the end result is that it's just not syncing everything . just half a dozen tunes i downloaded the other day )
  • is it worth me doing "restore" ?

Are you running the most up to date software on iPod and iTunes-update within iTunes if not.
