Try Focus. Even in the tiny poxy Tavistock store they keep stocks of kitchen worktop.

Have you tried the local Trade kitchen places?
Such as Magnet or Howdens.
I'm sure they'd be happy to help you out.
When I got my kitchen at trade (Used a chippy friends cash acc.) I paid £70 for 2 x 3m lengths.

Hi, we bought worktops for 19.99 from No Frills, and they are exactly the same as they sell in the main diy chainstores. No Frills get lots of clearance lines (it seems to me) as well as lots of 'once only' offers. I love them. Also, if you fancied cheap wooden worktops, the best price we found for ours were at IKEA. Just a tip, but when we bought our worktops from No Frills, for our utility room, my hubby took a saw with him and cut the worktops into rough size in the carpark, to save paying delivery charges. Also, my lovely hubby made new skaker style cupboard doors for the entire kitchen for less than forty quid. It cost much more for the swish new handles (50 quid). The cupboard doors are painted in a professional pain from our local Leyland Paint Shop, who give excellent advice, and match up shades to just what you want. Use the free paint swatches from diy shops to match colours up to the ones you have seen in showrooms. To paint, use a good quality undercoat. Leyland sold us one that covers everything, even paint and crayon and nicotine stains. It cost about 28 quid for a huge, huge tin, and everyone in the family has used it for alsorts of stuff. When doing the top coat, use a small foam roller as it makes the paint go a lot further and gives a really fantastic finish, without brush marks or drips etc. You can get different rollers for gloss and emulsion. It's a lot less tiring that using a brush or a big roller.
Good luck, take your time and it will look fab.:hello:  please play nicely children !0 -
If you are near an Ikea and like wooden (planked) worktops, theirs are very good value if you can get them in the back of your car. You will need to seal them with B&Q heavy-duty varnish, unless you like oiling them every few weeks. If you don't spill anything too awful on them they will last very well.0
