I know that most of you OSers probably know about Farm Foods, but for the first time today I ventured in here because over on the SBDD board they said that they had Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream 2 tubs for £2. I was intrigued and so went in, always avoiding FarmFoods until now because I thought they only sold processed stuff. I was pleasantly surprised and managed to get a good basket of stuff! Alot of the stuff is not OS at all but I was surprised at the low prices on the Quorn, Oxos, Gravy Salt (alas not dear departed Burdalls but Comptons which is next best) Dried milk, fruit juices, jam and of course - the un OS Ben and Jerry's. They had four flavours, Cherry Garcia, Dublin Mudslide, Vermonster and a chocolaty one the name of which I have forgotten because I don't like chocolate ice cream. They also had really cheap biscuits too - I haven't bought biscuits for ages but succumbed to the lure of 24 Club biscuits for £1.50!! I didn't have much time in there to look around but I wondered if anyone else uses this shop and if they find it cheaper than Tesco Value or similar?

I haven't been in for ages but what a great deal on Ben and Jerrys - is the chocolately one Phish Food? I've got visitors coming this weekend so might nip in and pick up a few bargains.
I also try and visit Aldi and Lidl to see what's on offer.:j0 -

I think i do 75% of my shopping in farm foods, and top it up at morrisons, or asdas. My local store has now started doing fruit and veg too, which is handy.I came into this world with nothing and I'm gonna leave with nothing.0

I love Farmfoods for picking up 'treats' like icecream/ lollies and Quorn. Some of the items are extremely cheap when compared to other supermarkets.0

I keep getting those money off vouchers too, I still have a pile of them in my purse. The nearest one is about 9 miles away and I really don't like driving the route I have to go to get there but I may have to give it a go one of these days as their prices really do sound good.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

I went to Farmfoods this morning and bought 2 tubs of Ben and Jerrys - Dublin Mudslide and Mintwinter (40% extra in that one!). There was so much nice stuff in there and all so cheap. I also bought 2 bags of Youngs Lobster in breadcrumbs for £4 - shouldn't really because it's not in my meal plan but all three kids are going to camp next week and OH and I will have 5 days alone so the lobster will be a treat. Good job I only had £8 with me though or I'd've spent loads!!!0

Our local farmfoods has started doing fresh fruit, too. They had some, eg bags of bananas, for £1 on BOGOF.
They do a lot of processed stuff that I wouldn't buy, but their frozen veg is usually quite reasonable, and sometimes they have good offers on bread.0 -
It's funny how the name 'Farm Foods' cunjures up images of free range eggs, organic meat and such like but when you get in there it's difficult to find the OS stuff in the middle of all the ready meals and processed foods. I think trades descriptions should make them change their name.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040
