I applied for a basic bank account from RBS was turned down I knew I would fail a credit search hence applying for this, the woman said no credit search was done so maybe something like fraud was the problem, after panicking I sent for my file, and lo and behold what shows up credit search RBS 26/03/2010 Credit Search- Rbs sales and account opt in, so I was lied to, does anyone suggest what I should do?

I went into the branch and applied with my ID the woman did everything infront of me went away came back and said no0

Well go back to branch and show the woman your credit report and ask for the search to removed.
Are you sure the woman only processed an application for a key account?
In branch they tend to do an application for a current account and then the system will recommend an account if any at the end of the application.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
No the woman specifically said no credit search was done and I may have been turned down because of a record of fraud or something was on my file.0

Is there anything on your credit file that may have prevented you from opening a basic bank account?Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0

Nope no fraud nothing thats why I sent for it coz she implied that may be the problem,
just some bad debts but nothing major and some of them will be gone in a few months coz the 6 years will be up. thats why I applied for this because I knew I would fail a credit search.0 -

There may not be data on the one report but shows up on the other.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

stclair, I have always been credit searched by Natwest during online applications. They have done it for a Step account and even for an eISA.
I contacted them and got the search for the eISA removed.
Lately I have complained because they searched me for an application I didn't complete, but they have failed to remove that search.0 -
Yeah im aware credit scoring takes place for online applications.
However I was unaware it happens within branch.
It not hard for the bank to remove searches from a credit file, you should keep on at them.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0
