:T Frugaldom So do I!! Most people I know think I'm potty writing down the cost of a stamp or if I transfer 3p into my coin pot! I'm so glad I'm not the only one.

Big egg-citing news today - we got our chickens 5 weeks ago and have had our first free-range organic egg today :j

    Hi Folks,

Pinch, punch first of the month. Very glad to have made it through to May as we went right through the budget ceiling in April. This was due to the unexpected car repairs and the short camping break with a dinner out for the 4 of us.

Still dusted down and making a fresh start with May. Signature is upto date again.

    Good luck everyone with everything.

    Hello everyone,

Hugs and high fives for everyone who needs them.

Its been very quiet here so nothing much to report. I've spent the past two weeks studying really hard and I'm pleased to report that I've FINISHED my dissertation. Its a bit of an odd feeling now, I've done all my uni work and don't have anything to do.

I do however need to save up for the impending move. I move out of my student house into who knows where at the end of June and I've had some unexpected bills so I'm poor. I think I'm going to have to move back to the Mothership which isn't ideal but its a roof I guess.

I'm currently trying frantically to find a teaching job for September. I've been to visit lots of schools and found four that I really like so I'll be handing in applications for them next week. Please cross your fingers for me - the competition is worringly high in the bit of the world I want to live!

Has anyone heard from Rozeepozee? I hope her and the babies are fine. Candygirl no reason to feel bad for your ex especially as you say its for a good reason. Enjoy your boating day out.

Am making a mental note to budget ahead for birthdays next year as we are all in the early months. Taking a big hit for dd's 21st over the weekend so not a good start to May. Probably overcompensating cos I can remember my own was all but ignored , but wanna give her a special day and a present to last a lifetime. After flogging through goodness knows how many violin lessons and practices as a child she gave it up at Grade 7. Now at the end of uni she's gone back to it and wants to use it by joining folkgroups and such for her social life. Awww it was all worthwhile in the end. Didn't ever think we would be buying another flippin violin though! Right; now we have to be extra, extra frugal this month....more pre-planning needed.
Also going to try to stagger out some of the larger outgoings like huge sacks of catnuts and DH's nose-strips. April seemed to see me running out of all the more essental but expensive items at the same time. Hmmm this frugalising record is proving rather useful.
Hugs to everyone, hope you are all having a great weekend.

Hey all. Finally managed to get back on the computer so sorry this is so late, it's been an absolute whirlwind around here.

I'm very happy to announce the arrival of our twin girls on 20th April 2010. Eliza and Dolorez at 9.24 and 9.25 weighing the slightly shocking weights of 6lb 4 oz and 6lb 14 oz respectively (ah, that's why I was so huge and uncomfortable).

Since then I have been mostly breastfeeding!!! It's been bloody hard but we seem to be making it. I was in hospital from the Monday night (19th) to Saturday and although it's good to be home, we've had the builders in whilst I've been away so the house is upside down!

The girsl are both gorgeous (one auburn, one dark brown hair - I will post pics once my normal computer is back up and running) and we are delighted to have them and our little boy is over the moon to be a big brother.

So glad my mum's been around. Doubt we'd survive otherwise. It really is intensive care but it seems to be getting a bit calmer now and at the moment they are both sleeping peacefully for what seems like the first time in a week.

On the frugal side, we're too busy to do much shopping so it's been the bare necessities - food. The flip side is, I'm eating huge amounts cos of the breastfeeding!

Doubt you'll hear much of me for a while til things settle down and my computer is reinstalled in the room being damp proofed but I'll be back soon.

No time to even skim read posts but hope you're all well.

    R x

Wonderful news RP! Huge congratulations to you all (it's hard enough with 1 new baby and a teenager!)
