Ikea Customer Services

Having problems with IKEA - bought bedroom furniture in December and had it delivered (at a cost of £90) - today I went to assemble my new bed to discover that 1 of 3 necessary boxes was not delivered. I phoned IKEA today who are being really awkward, saying they are refusing to release the 3rd box until I have proof of purchase (thankfully I have a visa bill). I am now left without a bed and not sure when (or if!) I will get this resolved..... any advice?

I agree with writing. Point out (politely) the inconvenience caused by their mistake and their unwillingness to help.

I ordered some stuff a couple of years back and wanted it delivered. It was to cost £70 for delivery and was to arrive within a certain time.

Needless to say it didn't arrive and I was very annoyed to say the least. It turned out that delivery to my neck of the woods should have taken longer, but no one told me that and they weren't interested in my complaints. I found phoning did no good whatsoever, so I wrote a very polite carefully worded letter and very shortly after, received a phone call with an apology and was told that my delivery charge would be refunded.

I was happy enough, as it was more an annoyance than anything else and I ended up getting free delivery.

I was told at the time, that if someone takes the time to write a letter as opposed to phoning or emailing, then they obviously feel they have a valid complaint and it will be given more consideration than just a phone call.

    Good luck
