Travelodge Birmingham

Hi i have just booked a cheap deal at Travelodge Birmingham - the one in the city centre. just wondering if anyone has stayed there and if they can help with these questions:-

Is there tea and coffee making facilities in the room?
Do you get complementary shampoo/shower gel?
Are there any good restraunts near by?

Any other tips for staying there would be greatly appreticated.

Thanks

Hi there we have stayed at that travelodge quite a few times. Travelodge are economising in all their lodges and while there is tea and coffee facilities in all rooms theres little else. There is a car park immediately under the lodge and the TL is about 5 storeys high (unusual for TL). You are in the heart of clubland so there are pubs, clubs and restaurants within a few minutes of your lodge. Whether you enjoy that part of Birmingham depends on your age and requirements (We are both 50s and like to go into different types of pubs etc). You are 10 minutes walk from the city centre and there are buses up and down Broad st (Clubland) if you need them. Hope this helps and you have a good time

  • all t/lodges are the same. they have tea/coffee/milk and soap/towels in bathroom but they are gr8, clean, modern and good value for money, no matter if you get a saver or normal priced room. The beds are huge and v comfortable and the tv has extra channels/films/xxx/etc if you want to pay extra.

    Hello there,
My girlfriend and I stayed at this exact lodge not so long ago. The room was clean, spacious, had tea and coffee and excellent views (were on top floor). The restaurants nearby are not fantasic, mainly chain restaurants, but do often have moneysaving deals. We spent 30mins + walking to the TGI Fridays as we had a 2 for 1 voucher, tight or what!
    Have a great time
    Thanks
    Chris

Just another quick question does anyone know if they have a room where you can put your case. I will be arriving in birmingham at 10am and cant get in the room until 3pm - dont really want to pull my case around birmingham.

In the past when I have arrived early at hotels, I have asked the hotel if I can leave my case with them - but it all depends on their policy. If you are luckym they may already have a room available - but its a City Centre hotel so its more than likely it will be busy, but its worth a shot to ask.

Hubby is from Birmingham originally. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a PM.

Travelodge as a company do not allow baggage to be left at the hotel for security reasons.
You may be lucky and get there on a day when they have not been busy the night before. I think the earliest you would be able to check in is 12noon.

  • 2 nice restaurants I can recommend are:

The Bank restaurant at Brindley Place, and Shogun round the corner from Mal Maison. Depending on your budget you will also find the likes of TGIs and plently of others round and about where you are staying.

    Tea/Coffee - Yes!
Shampoo/Shower Gel - No! (you get a mini bar of soap, that's it).
Restaurants - There are quite a few on the same street (Broad Street). There is a Weatherspoons almost next door for a cheap breakfast/meals etc.

However I wouldn't stay in this hotel in winter - the insulation is poor and it was freezing!
