Removing paint from wood work

Firstly, I am a wee bit affronted that I don't know how to do this, but I am rubbish at DIY stuff and try to avoid it by all costs!
My ex painted the bathroom a few years ago, and didnt mask off the woodwork round the door, window etc (that should have been a sign of what a twit he was, even I know that you mask stuff off!!). Its varnished wood.
I am hoping that my lovely H2B will help me redecorate next week, but I am unsure of the best way to get the paint off the wood.
Its matt, normal paint (ie not bathroom paint or anything). Any advice will be gratefully received!

if its just emulsion paint itll come off with some hot water and some scrubbing.
try a nylon scouring pad or wirewool.
take care,
if youre very gentle, ish, you may get away without hurting the wood surface at all.Get some gorm.0
