Starting out?
I am about to complete on my house (not been in the housing market for a while) and was wondering if there's any way to find out who is cheapest to start with, everywhere I look it's about switching over and comparing to your existing usage, which I just don't have the figures for it, or do I have to go in and use what is there for a couple of months and then compare?

Could you not make an estimated guess, 20,000 kWh for gas and 4000 kWh for electricity and use that as a starting point?

However, bear in mind that some people use a lot more and some people use a lot less. Different tariffs work out cheaper based on your usage, so make sure you don't lock yourself in for too long just in case
