I live in South East Wales and today Wales turned digital. I've just bought a new tv with freeview pre installed but I can only get 18 channels today - can't receive Dave or ITV 3 at present as well as a host of other freeview channels.
Should I be able to receive ALL of the freeview channels or will I have to retune at a later date to get the full freeview package ? Thanks

Here's the multiplex blocks. Do you get the others channels listed in multiplex A & C?

Have you tried a re-tune at all so far?

In the meantime, if you're missing your favourite programmes, you can get all of freeview on the net:

I'm using a set top aerial for reception and can't get either multiplex A, C, or D. My reception comes from the Wenvoe transmitter and then through a local relay transmitter.
Checking with digitaluk it seems I can only get the current channels I receive and not the channels covered by the above multiplexes.
If I used a roof top aerial would it make any difference and would I then receive the missing channels ?

Quickest way to find out is look at your neighbours and see who has an outside aerial and ask them if they get all Freeview channels.

You would need to be very close to a transmitter to get good Freeview reception with an indoor aerial.

I found Wenvoe has all channels but some (including Dave and ITV3) are currently transmitted at half power, which means they will be harder to receive. I'm not quite sure how a relay station complicates it or what effect it has on transmitter power.

An internal aerial won't be helping you at all. You'd be better off on an external roof top aerial however there is still no guarantee you'll get the channels. As suggested above, try asking neighbours what they get.

Have a few more goes of finding the channels. Took at least 10 tries before they all came up on my tv.
