Just had a call from 06132 08686 or 0613208686 saying they were the accident marketing advice center, that they knew someone in my household has been to the gp recently about an accident or illness. Im concerned as either someone is accessing medical records (which I doubt), or its some other kind of scam, injury claims etc.
Can not find who it is by googling, so just thought I would flag it up here incase someone else googles the number.
I am TPS, but it doesnt stop 'em all!
All I can find is 06132 being a trunk dialing code for Barh in India, so thats not narrowed it down!

They're just ambulance chasers working by random auto-dialling.
When they hit an actual number and someone answers, they say they have been told that someone on this number was reported as having an accident and they are ringing to offer advice.
If it just happens that someone in the household has had an accident recently, then they have the chance of talking them into "handling their case".
If no one in the house has had an accident, they just move on to the next number that answers.
I don't know what the hit rate is for finding a random number on which someone has had a recent accident but I've had two calls in two years from them, so it must be enough to make it worthwhile them continuing the practice for that period.0 -
As far as I know, we don't have an 06 number range in the UK, so I think that caller ID is spoofed (faked).
OP, did you try the whocallsme.com website? Mind you, if the number doesn't show up in Google, then there's a good chance that noone on whocallsme has come across it either.0 -

Didnt come up on google, just tried whocallsme, just incase, but nothing. The number seems valid, the area code is somewhere in india, which sounds right. Or like you say, could be spoofed. One time I had loads of calls from numbers like 0111111, which were obviously made up.
One of these days when Ive got time, i should try and string them along and have some fun, but they always seem to call when im putting tea on the plates!0 -

If you start up a conversation with any of these callers, you will increase the frequency of the calls. Some of them are trying to sell you a service but most of them are scammers trying to establish your identity to scam you or sell it on to others.
If you talk to them, call them back or answer questions (even as a wind up), they will continue to pester you to try to get more information from you. They are looking for your name and, hopefully, your address (though phone number and name will usually get them the address) as well as anything else that you accidentally divulge when you are having a rant at them. Some of them deliberately wind you up so that you do drop your guard. The scam they (or others) then use may not be over the telephone but may well be on the doorstep or through the post.
By talking to them you establish that you are prepared to talk to strangers on the phone and your number will get sold on to other firms with the same motive.
Just do not speak to them. As soon as you know it is a dubious call, put the phone down without a word. Eventually, the frequency of the calls will reduce as non-talkers are the only people who really waste their time.0 -
Thanks for your post david39, really useful advice!0
