Beware of On the Beach Holidays, flight extras prices!!

Please take this as a warning against booking flights through OnTheBeach.com. I recently booked flights (Jet2.com one way and flythomascook.com return) and accommodation and feel I have been totally ripped off.
OnTheBeach tell you during the booking process that the airlines charge for baggage and that you'll be given the option to add this at the end of the booking process. What they don't make clear is how much more you'll pay compared to booking direct with the airline e.g. direct through flythomascook.com you'll pay £10 per bag each way, through OnTheBeach.com you'll pay £20 per bag each way.
I wasn't given the option to add bags during the booking process so then had to phone them @ 10p per minute. Needless to say the phone call wasn't quick, I had to listen to recorded messages and was cut off three times when being transferred.
They also don't tell you that if you don't book all bags at the time of booking they will charge you an extra £30 admin fee to add a bag at a later date. Yet, you can add a hold bag with flythomascook at any time for the same £10.
Booking meals etc is even worse. You don't get the option to book flight extras e.g. meals, seats etc., at the time of booking, you have to log on to the 'manage my booking' section and pay more than double plus the £30 admin fee. So 4 meals with flythomascook.com is £20, when trapped into going through OnTheBeach the price for the same 4 meals is £90!!
You would think that you can contact the airline direct and add extras?
With Jet2.com, yes. With flythomascook.com, no. You can't because OnTheBeach pay for the ticket with their credit card so they say that they don't have a contract with me, the traveller.
I normally book flights and accommodation separately myself and have no difficulty doing so. I only booked everything through OnTheBeach because I thought it would be easier to keep everything together and the prices were the same when I compared them. Little did I know that I would be tricked into paying unfair and excessive charges for flight extras!
