I think its time to bite the bullet and do the factory restore, maybe its a lesson she needs to learn to back up her work, or maybe I need to remember to back it up to the external drive for her.

Full factory reset complete, and its running great. Have managed to get it connected to the wireless system again and downloaded latest virus stuff etc. Will put all the Powerpoint etc back on it tomorrow when I find the discks I have stored away carefully somewhere!!

Crikey forgot about the remove software thingy, I think there is a tool to do that for you somewhere. Thanks for the reminder:T
