Sony PC Repairs

Just a vent about Sony, their back up and charges.
I bought an expensive Vaio All-In-One PC 15 months ago and recently the screen failed (computer seemed to be working ok in the background).
Anyway, rang the helpline (35p per minute), on hold etc for about 20 minutes, only to be told that I would need to send it back to them for repair.
Fair enough, although unhappy that a top end PC only lasts 15 months, I though it would be worth fixing.
They emailed a quote which said that they may charge me:
£220 if I'm lucky and its a basic repair
£550 if it's a bit complicated
£850 if its a major repair
My advice....stick to the cheaper brands with cheaper parts that your local dealer (or even yourself) can repair.
Thanks for listening

Unfortunately that's the major problem (for me anyway) with all-in-one machines. If a part goes, it can be rendered useless far quicker than a standard PC + monitor, a new monitor would only run you around 90 quid...0

Totally agree. My dad was looking for a new PC yesterday and he was looking at the all in one to save space. I explained to him he got a new monitor just before Christmas and his keyboard worked fine so just buy a tower. He didn't believe me that you could do it and went to check with the lad in PC World. If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550
