TSB rewards vouchers

I have some Kingfisher group/ Woolworths vouchers that I got from TSB using my credit card, As you are aware Woolworths went into liquidation in 2008 and the vouchers are not being accepted. Having contacted TSB they have told me that my credit card does not does not cover me for a refund as they deem it to be a cash transaction are they correct or do you know better
