A small insight into how it works was when a prize arrived some while ago and there wasn't a compliment slip. It was from O2's head office, but I couldnt find them running a comp. Knew as it was an expensive prize I might be able to find out where. A few hours googling led me to Company.

I found that they had done one but two months before my prize arrived ( gives you an idea of how long it takes if we are not aware of it being sent);)

I rang National Magazines as Company are part of them but didnt get back to people via email from the web page contact.

    The National Magazine Company Ltd

    Tel: 0207 439 5000

I asked to be put through to whoever is responsible for prizes and got straight through.

The lady told me they get offered the prizes by the sponsor in my case O2 and then pass details of winner on and thats the last they really have to do with it.

I said there was nothing in the parcel to say where I had won it and I had traced the comp via cached Google pages.
She did say she thought O2 would have said where prize was from. That also they needed to start telling people about the wins and asking promotors to add the compliment slips.

Hence now winners get letters I also leave 28 days for a prize, also this month I would take Easter into account. ;)
So I would be asking them the first week in May but wait for midweek as again its Bank Hols.

I have had a prize again turn up four months after entering, no letter before that would have had me hassling them for its whereabouts. Complete surprise.

Others turn up the day after being notified.:)

Longest wait knowing about a win was 1 year and 17 days and from the States and no complaints procedures like the ISP for comps there. Just polite determination to get my prize.:rotfl:

The most honest prize giver I ever had was when I had waited a month and asked he emailed back

"Oh crap I totally forgot to post it":rotfl:Best reply I have had.
