My computer was very slow, into the control pannel under microsoft office XP there are lots of updates. In some there is an option to remove it but other hasn't. My question can i remove these updates? also by removing i will not remove anything that i shouldn't? I am completely novice.
Thanks in advance.

The presence of updates for your copy of microsoft office has nothing to do with your computer being slow.
Off the top of my head
If you gave more detail then we may be able to help.
Whats your operating system, and is it up to date?
What security are you using, is it up to date.
Have you removed the accumulated detritus from the PC using something like CCleaner?
How much RAM do you have
What processor do you use
Whats the size of you hard disk drive, and has it been defragged lately. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Dont remove updates, theyre (mostly) there for security purposes
Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
Open malwarebytes and goto UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated goto SCANNER and click PERFORM FULL SCAN then click SCAN
Post the COMPLETE log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds
reboot
Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/2894/
Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log):idea:0
