Bicarb and vinegar normally help get rid of everything off my hob/cooker!!!!0

Ok, I admit that I should keep on top of it a bit more, but when I come to clean my kitchen properly, I find a film of grease on the hob (maybe the word layer is more appropriate here), but also on the fridge, on the microwave and on the worksurfaces.
What's the best way of cleaning it. I normally use Mr Muscle or equivilent with a scouring pad, but it takes some doing. The pad also quickly becomes greased up. I've also tried cream cleaner and Cif scourer.
Is there a secret, apart from doing it more often?

Star Drops, cleans everything0

Stardrops and elbow grease.
You will find it in the cleaning section or sainsburys and at wilkos etc.
You need to dilute it into an old spray cleaner bottle or a plant spray bottle. About an inch covering the bottom, you can add zaflora disinfectant (a few drops) to give it a smell , then top up with water. Spray on and your away.
Stardrops is a cleaner for everything. You can check out other threads on here praising it merits.
There other solutions for more stubbon grease. Just shout out.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

I'll second the Stardrops but also household polish like Pledge cuts into grease too and leaves it really shiny.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

Try using washing soda in the water, it cuts thrugh grease, years ago they used to wash up with it before we got the present day washing up liquids. If I get a really greasy tin I sprinkle washing soda in and then fill it with hot water and leave it to soak, by the time I am ready to wash up most of the muck has soaked off.

Unfortunately Stardrops wasnt much use to me on my recent caravan holiday. Have i got the only man in the world who insists on a full cooked breakfast in the morning and a full cooked meal at night? Usually we eat out but since having the dog, its not easy to eat out these days. Anyway, morning and night i cleaned that wretched cooker because of the grease but in the end i went out and bought a bottle of Fairy Liquid, which i must say, worked better on splattered grease than the Stardrops did.
We are off on holiday again in it in a fortnight but ive told MrJudi that if he cooks the breakfast (and cleans the cooker), then i will cook at night. :mad:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Judi, I used to use my George Foreman when at the caravan, bacon and sausage went in it for breakfast so I only had to fry, scramble or poach an egg on the hob. For evening meal I used to have salad and new potatoes with something like a pork chop or steak done on George0
