Mike Le Vell's debt firm crashes

Coronation Street actor Mike Le Vell's "we-can-write-off-your-debts" firm has gone belly up.
It's one of dozens of new claims-management outfits that said it could recover bank charges and clear debts - for an upfront fee.
When Le Vell, who plays Kevin Webster in the soap, joined the board of Ratio Money last year, he said: "Consumers have been ripped off and exploited by financial organisations for many years.
"Thousands of people are suffering - but help is at hand."

Ratio Money charged £295 promising to refund all but £50 if unsuccessful.
This booming but untested industry took a hammer blow before Christmas when a landmark High Court ruling closed some of the loopholes used to write-off debts.
Last month, Ratio Money slashed its fees to £99 while 25% shareholder Le Vell quit as a director.
Remaining director Matthew Porteus has now admitted the firm has collapsed and whinged that he and Le Vell have lost a fortune.
It is thought that thousands of customers will now be denied a refund though - ironically - some will be able to claim the money back on their credit cards.
Le Vell was unable for comment because he's on holiday.

I had a case with Ratio Money that was dormant until about 6 weeks ago.

I called every week for about 8 months and asked for my money back if nothing was going to happen but was constantly told my claim was being allocated to a solicitor.

After an eternity I got a letter from them telling me my claim was being assessed by Black Knight Solicitors - who are not solicitors apparently:(

A guy from Black Knight called me to ask some questions which I thought was a bit starnge because Ratio had had my claim for ages and never asked me these questions before. When I asked him about the money that I had paid he said it was nothing to do with them and i should ask Ratio about that:(

Anyway, a few days later I got a call from a solicitor who said that they would be taking on my claim on a no win no fee service.

They sent me a contract and then phoned me again to go through how it works:T

My claim is now being dealt with at last and the lady solicitor seems really nice but I,m sure that this has got nothing to do with Ratio and they have taken my money for nothing

Can,t see how they,ve lost any money
