Tumble drier help please, please?

I've just taken the back of my tumble drier to clean all the fluff and lint from it and whilst doing so I knocked a clip out of place and I can't get it back into it's original position. There are three other clips exactly the same, are they tensioning for the belt or something? Would I be able to run the tumble drier as it is now until I can get this sorted or would it be dangerous. It's a small drier with a vent hose to let the damp air out, Creda Autodry. Please help anyone, I can't live without my tumble drier. Thanks everyone. :-)

Think it's the idler pulleys, one's come out. I've put the cover back on and just left it and it seems to be running ok, fingers crossed it doesn't go belly up before I get a repair man out, earliest Monday.

Have a good look at where the clip goes and what it may be holding in.

Thanks for your reply. I reckon it's the pulleys, can get away with small light loads but nothing too heavy. It'll do for now until I can get it serviced.
