Miele S4000 series vacuum cleaners

Hi,
I want to buy a new Miele vacuum cleaner, a small lightweight model from the S4000 series. I am looking for feedback from anyone who has a model from this range. In particular I would like to know if anyone has the comfort handle (extra plastic handle above the bend in the wand where you would normally grip) how do you find it? Does it really make vacuuming more of a pleasure
or is it just an expensive gimmick? Does it get in the way when you are using the small attachments? So far I have spoken to a Miele dealer who is not keen on it and someone at Miele customer services who has one and finds it nice to use. I will probably end up going to my nearest Miele stockist to try it but I don`t think you get the same idea from playing with one for a few minutes as opposed to having feedback from someone who has actually used one in their home. I am very short if that makes any difference.
I am also considering buying the battery powered electrobrush rather than the standard turbo brush. I know this is a bit extravagent but my hall stairs landing and lounge floors are Axminster carpet which cost a fortune and I want to keep it looking good for as long as possible. I would really love to know how well this deals with general soiling and squashed carpet pile. Is it very hard work to use, pushing/pulling etc. or does the motor in the brush head make it glide better?
I am hoping that CKDesigner will spot this thread being the MSE font of knowledge of all things Miele. CKD if you read this I hope you can spare me a minute to reply. At the moment I am undecided between buying a higher end model with comfort handle and electrobrush included or a lower end model with standard wand and adding the electro brush as an extra. The prices I have seen vary from £128 (standard wand and brush head) to £250 ( with comfort handle and electro brush) Also does the trisopic tube feel any heavier or lighter to use compared to the standard telescopic tube? Due to health problems I am trying to buy the lightest, easiest to use configuration possible.I know this vacuum will last me for years so I don`t mind paying to get something that makes life as easy as possible.
By the way I know that CKD cannot promote his own website personally but if anyone else could let me know the web addy I would like to check it out when comparing prices.
Thanks in advance,
Slinky

ive had a miele for two years now. i think mine is a s5000 (£199) but im not sure. its navy anyway! it came with the turbobrush attachment, parquet brush and a few others. i think its amazing. the suctions so good i cant keep it turned up full as it pulls the carpets up. the turbobrush is a really good job however ive just got new carpet fitted and its a loop pile so i cant use this anymore as it could catch and pull threads in the carpet. so im told! the parquet brush is great for wooden floors.
the handle on the hose is great as well.it helps the hoover swivel round corners etc and makes it so easy to use. given a second choice id definitely buy the same hoover again. it might be that bit more expensive than some other brands but you get what you pay for in this instance. maybe a bit more!0 -
Thanks for your feedback, the comfort handle does sound like it could be worth considering then as I will have lots of nooks and crannies to swivel in and out of ( due to the fact that I have way too much stuff in this house
). I had looked at the parquet brush too - no wooden floors here but a lot of shiny ceramic tiles in the kitchen and vinyl in the bathroom so the soft bristles would suit those. I have been on my knees tonight checking all my carpets and luckily they are all cut pile so I can use the electro brush on them.
Thanks again for your help.0
