[Edit: misnamed the title of the thread....i believe it is 'lsass.exe - MPR.dll' and not 'Isass.exe - MRP.dll' - oops]
Hello,
Hopefully someone can help me out of a frustating situation.
Finished using my laptop last night, logged off as normal - all fine. Today, swiched laptop on and a blue screen came up saying somthing about correcting minor fauls and rand through 3 steps (with each step showing a percentage complete figure).
Then the Windows page loads and the next screen should be where i select my user and log in. This didn't happen, instead i got a black backgroud with a pop up box saying:
lsass.exe - Bad Image
The application or DLL C:\Windows\System32\MPR.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette.
I've tried (after reading some other thread on this subject - here):
- F8 and entering 'SAFE MODE command prompt' but this just gives me safe mode with the same black screen and error message so i can't even try one of the fixes mentioned in the thread i linked to...
My laptop (bought about 6 months ago) runs Windows XP Pro and came with a Windows Vista Upgrade disk.
Can anyone advise on how i can sort this please - would be appreciated alot!
Thanks in advance...

I've been searching all over the net trying to fix this - no luck

Does anyone have knowledge of this? Feel at a bit of a dead end...0
