Buying a house in Chellaston Derbyshire

Hello:D

We are looking at relocating North just to get more house for our money and half way between work and parents is around this area.

Anyone from around here that could tell us about the area or advise on other decent areas to buy. The schooling has to be good as we have 3 of Infant, Junior and High School age.

Dont want to really be out in the sticks but not in a large town either.

If all else fails and no one can suggest areas then I think a call to Kirsty and Phil may be on the cards!!

Thanks for reading:T

    Hi danlojo

We live in Aston-on-Trent, a rural village south east of derby, and consider it a very nice place to live. The primary school has a good reputation and we are in the catchment area for Chellaston secondary school.

You do tend to get more house for your money in Chellaston but we're told from people who have lived there that there is no sense of community. Its not the worse area of Derby, but its not the best either.

It's a nice area, easy to access the city centre, very suburban with a good selection of local amenities.

Schoolwise there's an infant and junior, a primary, and a secondary with an excellent academic reputation and very stringent catchment rules so be careful with this one!

I'd suggest if you were looking for even more house for your money you might want to look slightly further up the main road towards the city centre at neighbouring areas.
