I'm normally known as being quite good at picking presents but I seem to have run out of ideas this year..any suggestions welcome! Might be easiest if I give an idea of things I've bought him in the past to show the kind of things he likes?
Glossy Land Rover book
Rechargeable DAB radio
Port/flask/Bill Bryson Book
National Trust membership
Electricity shut off monitor thing
Machine that makes paper logs for wood burner
But as I say really can't think of anything this year. Grateful for any ideas!

Thanks should have said really. Yes he grows veg although would say his wife was more the gardener. He likes mechanical things, land rovers, trains that sort of thing.

driving experience?
tickets for a day out at a motor museum or air museum or Air Day + picnic goodies:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Do you have any Tesco vouchers - we have used them for magazine subscriptions for pressies and always goes down well...and means the present lasts a year0

He's quite old fashioned and definitely not into anything like a driving experience unfortunately..
We do have tesco vouchers but the only magazines I think he'd be interested in are railway ones and I think he gets them already.
Sorry don't mean to be difficult I'm just a bit stumped!

I bet he'd never buy himself root-trainers for growing veg and he probably thinks they are too gizmoish for him to like, yet if he got them, he'd love them, especially if he got them now, when he can use them soon.chickaroonee wrote: »Thanks should have said really. Try to find out if he's got any already.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
Can I ask what root-trainers are out of interest (can you tell I'm no gardener?!)

Just put "root trainers" into google uk and there are loads of places to buy them.
You use them for starting off plants that have deep roots, like beans and sweetcorn, then you plant the growing plant outside when it's ready.
If he starts off veggies in multi modules, these are just a modern better version.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
