Have Halifax Bank (aka HBOS) decided to go on the offensive (in every sense of the word) after being rightly condemned for their disgraceful part in this country's:cool: financial crisis?
We are one of many small-fry who have lodged a claim for refund of punitive bank charges.
Despite having a claim lodged since 2008 and having had a token (no obligation) refund in response to my claim of financial hardship in 2009 and despite having failed to notify me that the claim has been rejected following the recent court ruling, they have been hounding my wife and I via a succession of debt collection agencies, namely IQOR, Geoffrey Parker Bourne, Wescot Credit Services Ltd and Nelson Guest and Partners to repay our overdraft (which of course has been hugely inflated by a fair chunk of the disputed charges).
There was a short period of respite after I sent them a strongly worded letter of protest in late 2009 pointing out that their actions and those of their agents were in breach of OFT guidelines in respect of:
However, we are again being harried, this time by Wescot (again), Horwich Farrelly and finally Robinson Way.
The latter I find particularly despicable as they generally target my wife alone despite the fact that the disputed Halifax charges relate to a JOINT account.
I am wearily in the process of referring the matter to the Financial Ombudsman and wish I could also claim for my family's £7000 share of the national debt with which the banks have burdened all of us in the (Dis) United Kingdom!!!
