Hello everyone,
I wonder if anyone can help me I tried to claim bank charges with Natwest last year under financial hardship they said no so i took it to the FO... The FO agreed with the bank that I was not in financial hardship at the time.
However looking at the new template on this site for reclaiming it says if you are in a DMP you can also claim now??
I had to go on a DMP with the result of all these charges mounting up over the years it is adding up to about £4,000 I got in a spiral and i had charges on charges.....
Now because the FO have already said no to financial hardship can I try with them again with the above statistics??
Bank charges were the main reason I got into trouble in the first place to have to go on a DMP I couldnt afford to live before it. (best thing i ever did)
So does anyone think I can try again?
Thanks for your help x

Have a read of the lending code (page 20) which explains how financial hardship cases are decided upon.
I suspect you'll get the same answer as before if you claim financial hardship purely on the basis of having incurred bank charges."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -

Thanks but I wont to claim on that basis I would on the other points that are marked out on Martins Guide - It says to try if you are on a DMP and had snowballing etc.... I was on hold before because of the case and it while i was on hold i went to the FO trying for financial hardship?
I feel they did not except me on financial hardship because I was in the DMP I was managing my money and not struggleing but before the DMP I was doing everything that applies to financial hardship.
Do you still think its not worth trying? - thanks0 -

Have you read the lending code section 9? It is that kind of criteria you need to look at. When the charges were snowballing, did you contact the bank at the time about your situation? What did they say? Did they treat you fairly?
Any credit card charges/store card charges or catalogue accounts that you might reclaim to reduce the overall debt within the DMP?0
