Garden shredder question

Hi
Sorry if this has been posted before - I have looked but can't find anything
I have some wood (trimmings from a flowering cherry tree) which has been laying in the garden, drying out, for about 6 weeks now, ready to be shredded and used as mulch.
My question is, due to the amount of rain we have had recently, do I still have to wait for the wood to dry out more before I can get this shredded - or is it ok to do now? The wood snaps quite easily when you bend it. Its no longer green and flexible like it was when first cut.
Sorry if this sounds like a daft question but I don't want to be paying out for shredder hire if it turns out the bliddy thing won't work 'cos the wood is too wet.:o
Thanks for any advice.:)

Should be OK. I suppose shredders vary but as long as there is enough woody material for it to be pulled through the shredder I think it will be fine.0
