I am looking to get a dress altered as it is too big, does anyone know where I can get this done in South Wales? I live in Pontypridd but am in Aberdare and Merthyr quite a lot so anywhere close.
Also any idea of how much it might cost - it's a cotton summer dress with a lined skirt, one size too big.
Thanks

Hi if your still looking for someone to alter your dress, there is one in Hirwaun, near aberdare in the high street, who is good.0

There's a place in cardiff that does excellent alterations but I can't remember the name of it !
Its in the arcade that has an entrance by the kitchens shop in St Marys Street and as you walk into the arcade its on the left hand side up a flight of stairs.....if you didn't know it was there you'd never know it existed.
They took in an evening dress of mine that was too big on the waist and top and they did an excellent job.2014 Target;

Was walking through Pontypridd Indoor Market the other day and noticed there is a little stall in there who does alterations etc, its at the back of the market virtually opposite the hardware store.Psychosomatic addict, insane.0

I think it was about £40 which for the work that was needed was very good - or so I thought!
I basically had a sequined top taken in with the straps shorten, and the skirt was shortened and the waist taken in.
For me what was important was that the alterations weren't visable and the top and skirt didn't look as if they had been altered (if that makes sense) and my mum even had her (very expensive!) coat altered there afterwards as she was so impressed with the work2014 Target;

Hi
Have just discovered this so maybe posting too late for you.
I took my bridesmaid dress to be altered in Wlliamstown in the Rhondda she did a brilliant job and charged me £10!
My family have taken other items there such as trousers, dresses and tops and all have been reasonable and a fantastic job
If you need directions just PM me0
