  • That's OK, but you could well be giving out someone else's 'phone number, which is a little unfair as they may well be getting these calls now!

  • Definitely agree with Woby_tides suggestion.

    It has worked for us.

    Except that now telesales companies are using computer generated random numbers and are not always checking them against the tele preference list before they call so we are now starting to get calls again!!!

    when i get a call i..

    1. i simply change the subject and talk about something else

    2. say 'oh it is my son/father u need to talk to, he is out'

    3. me speak no english u understand

    4. or just put the phone down on the table
    Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems :( Well at least i learn something on the way :D

    when i get the usual call asking about home improvements i tell them that i need a loft conversion. you would be amazed how quickly they go quiet and hang up ;D

    tps worked for us.
    been well over a year now and never get calls now. but might be as we always using the internet, when our broadband starts we will find out i guess!
  • I like the idea of fake numbers on websites - to avoid hassling strangers, though, I wonder if you can put the TPS telephone number into websites who require your phone number???

    Maybe their complaints department - 020 7291 3323, or their licence department (because they obviously don't have one) - 020 7291 3326...
