Help with remortgaging

I'm hoping someone can give me some advice, I need to remortgage my home as I need to remove my ex-wife of the property deeds. I will be staying with my current provider who will be renewing my current deal, but in my name solely.
I need a conveyancer in the Nottingham/Mansfield area, who are reliable, quick & cheap. The agreement to remove my wife off the deeds has been agreed so there should be to many problems or issues. It's a small mortgage of less than £70k.
I've seen the cheap online ones, but I just can't see how relaible they can be.
Many Thanks in Advance for any advice
Keith

    There are 2 elements here:
    Amending the mortgage
Changing the Title at the Land registry

The 2nd you could do yourself - speak to the LR about what forms they need and how.
Ask your lender what the'll charge to appoint their own solicitor to do the 1st.

Then pop into a couple of local solicitors and ask for quotes, stressing it's NOT a full puchase you need. Might be easier/just as cheap to get them to do both elements.

Not if there is a mortgage on the property. Very often there will be one transfer deed which transfers the property form 2 to 1 and releases ex-wife from her mortgage obligations - the lender will want to see it is drawn up in accordance with its requirements - so you will need a solicitor for the whole process - you can't just split it like that.

As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.
