I am looking to buy a property with my girlfriend. Is it best to get an agreement in principle once we have found the property we like? Also can you make an offer without an agreement in principle? Many thanks.

Yes (but it depends on the estate agent, sometimes they insist on them as a way to suck you into seeing their own mortgage advisor!)I am a Mortgage Adviser

Having just put an offer in before getting an agreement in principle sorted.. don't do it, it's too stressful.0

Agreement in principle should be done before you even begin looking at property.
This will determine your overall purchasing budget.
