PHEW... my deposit IS protected!

After a major panic this morning, I rang up TDS and they confirmed my deposit from the place I've just moved out of is protected, thank god.
I haven't heard anything from the LA about deductions, so was looking through my AST to write them a nice letter, when I noticed they'd put it a nice page designed to look similar to the TDS certificate of deposit protection, but it wasn't the actual certificate! So annoyed at myself for not noticing that before!
Anyway, it's been over 10 working days since the end of the tenancy (just), so how should I approach them about this? Write a letter saying I haven't heard from you in the required timeframe so I will be expecting the full deposit to be returned within 10 further working days?

Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard

Check the TDS website. I believe you can request them direct to release your deposit. they then contact the LL who either agrees - and you get it, or fails to respond - and you get it, or ask for deductions, in which case a dispute resolution commences.0

But I haven't got the actual certificate, with the reference number you need for the website, and the man on the phone said he couldn't give it to me - I'd have to ask the LA for the actual certificate.Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard0

Write to the LA, stating that you are pursuing the return of your tenancy deposit as you have not heard from them since the end of the tenancy on (date) State that the LA/LL has failed to comply with the terms of the Housing Act 2004 which require them to furnish you with the Deposit Scheme's "prescribed information". Request that they give you your copy of the certificate within the next 3 working days. Copy the letter to the LL, to the deposit scheme, and keep a copy for your own records0

ooh 3 working days, good idea.
LL lives outside the UK so we write to him c/o LA at LA's address - that's correct right?, it's what our tenancy agreement states.
I *may* have misplaced the certificate somewhere (but I don't think so), so I'm just going to politely request a copy of it for now, rather than threaten them...Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard0 -

If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
You are entitled to the LL's UK contact address and he is obliged to have one where you can lodge notices and give notice of proceedings etc. Ask now - your rights to have this info disappear once you leave.
That's what I'm saying - his UK contact address is:
Mr Landlord
c/o
Letting Agents
LA's address
UK
Is that ok? We've already left!Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard0 -
i dont know which scheme it was, but one certificate i received (as a LL) included my code to access the deposit release process. Clearly i had to delete this code from the certificate which i then copied onto the tenant - otherwise my tenant may have been able to pretend she was me and get the deposit released....0
