Foreign currency cheque

Hello,Quick question really (possibly a stupid one!) Can I get a cheque in another currency (US$) from my UK bank account?

they will issue you with a draft rather than a cheque drawn on your account.

However, it's far better to use their relay service for which they only charge £10 (so long as the amount is under £2000GBP)

It's not always cheaper this way - e.g. Halifax charge from £6 for foreign drafts, but £9.50 for electronic transfers.

ah but what you forget is that there will very likely be a charge on the other end for the deposit of that draft, not to mention the probability of not getting a decent exchange rate.
