Hi,
I don't know if anyone can help, but i just want to know where i stand and what i can do about a bed i ordered from Very.co.uk. Basically it was a mid-sleeper cabin bed type thing and this was what was stated in the description - the bed and optional additional mattress. It was advertised as £55 and we thought it was in the sale. A box arrived for us and so on arriving, we smashed up my daughters wardrobe (it has one built into the new bed) and cleared her room. We opened the box to find 1/3 of the bed and a leaflet stating 'box 2 of 3'. We emailed Very and were told this:
"Thanks for emailing us about the bed (TG586) you ordered.
I have looked into the order that was placed on the account on 23/03/2010. This order number is for pack 2 only - TG586 and is reflected in the price charged of £55.11.
We can order the missing packs for you. Pack 1 - TG583 and pack 3 - TG589.
Please confirm if you would like us to order these packs for you by email or if more convenient phoning the Multi-Items team 0844 822 4683 Mon-Fri 08.00 - 16.00"
Now if we wanted to order this we would have to pay twice over for the other 2 packs bringing the total to £175. We emailed back pointing out that the bed was advertised as a full bed, seeing as they made it seem like it was out fault for only ordering 1/3 of it!! They accepted that they put the wrong code and price to the wrong item but still said we would have to pay for the rest. It seems to me that we are being held at ransom! I don't know anyone that would order 1/3 of a full bed, it's useless without the rest! They also charged us £6.95 delivery which we probably won't get back, can we argue to get this back if we decide to send this bit of bed back? Anyway, sorry for the long post, any help would be great
